Some cameras are constructed to shoot panorama photos. Years ago I had an inexpensive panorama film camera that I bought specifically for trips to the Southwest. The vistas were so grand, so unlike anything I had ever seen that I wanted them in a single image. These days when I want to record a vista I take 3-5, usually vertical, overlapping images and stitch them together using photo editing software. Very occasionally I will crop  a single image to create a panorama format.

Manazanar was a internment camp for Japanese-Americans during World War II. It lies just east of Yosemite National Park. Visit it when you go to Yosemite.
